DESCRIPTIONA striking and long (2 ½”) pair of GIA certified antique natural untreated carved Jadeite Jade pair of drop dangle earrings, circa 19th century. Beautifully hand-carved from the Qing dynasty period (pre-1911) of two birds together (possibly cranes or herons) atop a flower (possibly lotus flowers) symbolizing double happiness. Double-sided carving. Suspends from an antique Victorian 14K fancy gold link and a matching round bezel-set Jadeite. 14K gold ear post.Accompanied by a gemological report from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) certifying that the stone is Jadeite Jade, natural color, no indication of impregnation and that the Jadeite is translucent, mottled green. The color is more like medium forest green. Photos 6, 7, and 8 show the bottom plaque held up against natural light, which shows the Jade to be translucent.Condition is as Shown on Photos: The bottom Jadeite plaques are in overall very good condition with no noticeable issues, one of the pair is missing one gold applied bead and the top round stone has a natural hairline inclusion.
