Vintage Large Art Deco Onyx Twin Mermaid Hammond Clock 16" Frankart Period - $550 - (Micanopy, FL)
This is a fine 20's or 30's Art Deco Spelter Mermaid Onyx Clock. It has a beautiful Onyx base and Hexagonal clock mount with twin Mermaids on either side. It is 16" wide, 9 5/8"tall and weighs 15 lbs 9 oz. The Onyx base is 15 3/4" wide 3 " deep and 1" tall. The mermaids are 7" tall and 3 1/2" wide and 1 5/8" deep. Marked Whitehall Hammond Synchronous Movement at the bottom of the clock face. Has the original sticker, marked Genuine Onyx on the back. The mermaids have lost most of their brass plating, but still look very nice. There is a small shallow 1/8" long chip on the top front edge of the base, 1/2" in from the right side, not easily seen. It is in very good condition, the clock works, and after running for several days, it is keeping perfect time. It has been rewired, so it is safe to use. Insurance is included with shipping.
