Up for auction is a is 3 - 10-inch dinner plates from the Commodore Perry Hotel.The 19-story, 500-room Commodore Perry Hotel was located at 505 Jefferson Street in Toledo, OH. The banner under the ship on the plate says: "We have met the enemy and they are ours." This famous battle was fought on Lake Erie during the War of 1812 when Commodore Perry destroyed the British fleet. The plates are in great condition with no chips or cracks and measures 10" across. Bottom marked "O.P.Co. Syracuse China 3-H Design copyrighted" the three alternate round marks on the bottom of each plate are firing production marks. And a speck or two inside the final glaze. All have some ware on the surface but are in very good condition with no chips or cracks. A very nice find at an estate sale in Bloomington, Indiana.
