Vintage Smith-Corona Silent Portable Typewriter1940-1945MaroonCase In 1939, Smith-Corona's "Flattop" style portable was replaced by the sleeker "Speedline" design. The Speedline somewhat belatedly reflected the futuristic, organic Art Nouveau style that had begun to move from architecture into industrial products in the 1930s. Speedlines continued through 1949, after which they were superceded by the Super-5 body. Everything seems to work. Carriage doesn't stay in place or move when typing. Space bar sticks occasionally. All keys seem to work. Needs a good cleaning and serviced. Restored model selling for over $500. MMTT092418 LST
