Offered here is a wonderful vintage facsimile edition of the original 1913 mail order catalog for the five and dime store Kresge that would become Kmart. Title page reads: Kresge’s Katalog of 5 Cent and 10 Cent Merchandise – S.S. Kresge Company, Michigan 1913 – Published by Random House, New York 1975. Illustrated products include: Fancy China; Corset Covers; Necklaces; Shaving Soap; Japanese Lanterns; Eye Shadow; Aprons, Stockings; Pillow Tops, Embroideries; Hat Frames; Aprons; Combs and Barrettes; Pens; School Supplies; Artwork; Crockery; Glassware; Household Tools; and Cobbler Supplies to name only a few. This 128 page, 10 by 7 inch softcover is in fairly good condition. The pages are clear and the binding is solid. There is a personal inscription on the inside front endpaper. The illustrated paper cover has just a bit of wear along the edges. There is one small rubbed are in the top right hand corner of the front cover where there appears once was a price sticker.
