Steiff King Ludwig Teddy Bear with Swan is a limited edition of 1500 worldwide. Mine is 00578 and I have been his only owner. He’s made of the softest, finest white mohair with beautiful mouth blown blue eyes. Dressed in a blue velvet coat lined with imitation ermine and embroidered in gold colored thread. He wears a red sash. As with all Steiff bears, he is handmade. The swan is made of white mohair and wears a small golden crown. They have white ear tags with a gold plated Button. King Ludwig wanted to devote his life to art and beauty. Besides the many artistic things he was known for he built the fairytale castle Newschwanstein. All of my Bears, dolls etc. come from a smoke free home, never exposed to sunlight and have never been played with. He comes with his COA and original box. Though I can’t find a retail price on this sold out bear, he is listed on the European Ebay market for the US equivalent of $$693.
