Please click to view. 1897 Engraved Color Map The World on Mercators Projection Satisfaction Guaranteed - This is a 110 year-old ORIGINAL map, NOT a reproduction Bordered area is about 10.5" x 15" with ample margins to allow easy framing. Map is dated 1897 on the face. This color map of The World on Mercator's Projection is dated 1897 on the face and was included in the Century Atlas of the same year. The map was "specially engraved for the Century Co. by the Matthews-Northrup Co. Buffalo, NY". The routes and distances of a number of steamship crossings are shown. Principal railroad routes are also shown (in red) The map is printed on medium weight paper with a fold in the center, blank on the reverse with the exception of the plate name and number printed on both the left and right top corner.
