Blunt blueback chart of the Gulf of Mexico, West Indies and Spanish Main, published in 1845. It includes the east coast of Texas in detail. It is in fairly good condition, as working charts of such age go, but would benefit from some attention. In addition to the usual wrinkles, there is an 18" tear on the right edge that has been amateurishly repaired with tape, short stains along the joins of a couple of sheets and it has tricking along the left edge, 7" wide on the back, with short folds on the chart side edges. The last picture shows the back rolled forward to show the ticking. Copies, when available, regularly sell at auction for $3000.00 and up. The only copy I could find for sale on line was priced at $15,000.00.
