E026U, The pommel is a bust of George Washington and the hand guard is a typical US officer issue of the 1870's. Symbolism is American with patriotic and military bearing. Monograms spell P.O.S.A. on the finely engraved 29.5" blade and 30.5" steel scabbard, all mountings and décor are nickel plated brass. Wood grip covered in black leather with single strand wire fastening in a swirl. Has weight to it as a weapon. Ensemble of patriotic America symbolism. Overall length sheathed 37", all clean and sound. Circa 1870-80's, all original and complete, ship weight 4 pounds.
