Antique Old Vintage 4/4 Full Size Violin Joannes Georgius Hellmer 1764 - $850 - (Sacramento, CA)
Up for auction is a old antique 1800s 1 pc back full size violin for restoration. The nicely antiqued 1 pc. back measures 14 1/8 by 8 inches. There are no bass bar cracks on the violin. The scroll and peg box are in good shape and the neck is solid. The pegs turn smoothly and the fingerboard is in good condition. The soundpost is standing inside the violin and there is a slight open seam to the right of the endpin (please check pics). The violin is labelled as a "Joannes Georgius Hellmer Prague 1764. The violin is for restoration. No crack on the back, just a straight scratch from the top to the button. The violin has age related scratches/wear marks on the varnish as well as a little edge wear on the top bout (please check pics). The top will need repaired including a repair in the sound post area (please check pics). More pics. available upon request. This old vintage 1pc back violin will need restoration to become playable.
