Rare Antique French Automaton c1880 Bisque Head Woman on Tricycle All Original - $3,500 - (Neptune, NJ)

This automaton wind-up mechanical doll dates to around 1880 and is functioning as intended. When wound, she rides around on three wheels, probably made to simulate walking. It works on a countertop or solid surface but doesn't have the power to move around on a cloth tablecloth. She was made in France. The bisque head has piercing blue eyes and is an FG (Ferdinand Gaultier). It is not marked but unmistakable. The hands are bisque on upper arm armiture. No damages to the bisque. The straw hat style has been found on early FG dolls. Her dress is the original silk - in frail condition with some splits (check photos). Even the ribbons are original. She stand 9" tall.
