NAPOLEONIC ERA FRENCH OFFICER'S SWORD & SCABBARD - $725 - (Philipsburg, PA)

E006Z, Napoleonic Wars era, circa 1780-90. All brass scabbard and hilt, mounted on 2 edged blade of 27", finely crafted with some decorative engraving at the ricasso. An early emblem of rank, this specimen could serve in affairs of honor (duels). Perfectly balanced and well crafted for fighting. Scabbard lacks a throat though, overall length sheathed 33.5", could also have been in French service in America earlier, well made, unmarked, all original, ship weight 4 pounds.
