Trader-BOB's MUSIC offers a 1890's SS Stewart, "Monogram", 5 string open back banjo. 20 tension hooks, 11" goat or calf skin head, very bad shape. Missing the strings, bridge, and all 5 of the string tuning pegs, (tapered, violin style). This banjo should have gut, or nylon strings. The 20 tension hooks, (one hook & nut missing), nuts, and lugs are all original, and all match. There is rust on the hardware. The "German Silver" rolled, wooden body is in good shape. The neck ihas a .031" bow. There is wear on the fretwires, and fretboard. Missing two fret markers, and 2 fretwires. The neck heel has been cobble repaired with screws, and is loose on the dowelstick. The bottom section of the fretboard is missing. Not sure if the tailpiece is the original. Rough, but still an SS Stewart, and worth fixing. There are some knicks, and dings, consistant with the age of it. PROJECT.
