Original Limbert Cut-Out Table Inspired by Charles Rennie Mackintosh - $4,700 - (Fraser, MI)

Offered is an original Limbert cut out table. The last few photographs show the underside and details of the spline that resides in each of the supporting plank legs and their relative patina indicating age of this table. Provenance is 1980’s in which case it was found lacking appropriate finish to top and sides. The underside and inside of the table contained the original finish. Restoration included reglueing joints and removal of unappropriate tung oil finish. The table was dewaxed and any major alarming discontinuities filled with the ( 1910 process ) heat activated lacquer stick to match surface. All surfaces were blended with aniline dye to match original and subsequent finish coat tints to achieve the final top coat. All which was top coated with hard paste wax. The result is a fine sturdy table and with durable finish to last ages. The table is unsigned but has an area under the top that appears may have contained a paper label.
