Title: Loederer's movie book Publisher: Durable Toy and Novelty Corporation Publication Date: 1928 Illustrator: Richard Loederer Book Condition: good Box Size:8 1/2" x 5 3/4" Panoramic moving picture book comes with two scrolls (in a series of six). 1)Story of America and 2)Illustrated alphabet. Color printed scrolls are three inches high and five feet long and are on two wooden dowels that are placed on original metal cranks. Turning the cranks allows you to see images move through the window on the front of the box. Cranks are in wooden housing and may have been glued back in at a previous time. 1) "Illustrated alphabet" has some chips on the top of the scroll not affecting the illustrations, alphabet is complete. 2) "Story of America" has been repaired with tape on the back in two places, complete. Box is lightly scuffed and worn. A similar version has sold for $575 on vintagepopupbooks.com. Richard Loederer born 1894 worked as an illustrator at DC comics: one of first publications was "new fun" comics. Please refer to detailed photos which are part of the description.
