Offered here for your consideration is a wonderful and rare KPM Berlin cameo portrait cup and saucer. A cameo relief bisque portrait depicting Queen Frederika Louisa is centred in a gold cartouche surrounded by a mottled lapis blue ground with gilt highlights. The cup's foot and the saucer's edge each are parcel-gilt with an acanthus pattern. The cup has a pedestal foot and a beaded scroll handle. It dates to the late 19th or early 20th century. It is in overall good, as-pictured used estate condition with some very minor rubbing to the gold, some very fine and light glaze scratches here and there, and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. The bases of both cup and saucer have a blue underglaze scepter factory mark, a red orb mark, and various numbers and cyphers. Measures: Height cup: ca. 4 1/2 in.
