Offered here for your consideration is a wonderful and rare, antique KPM Royal Berlin cameo portrait cup and saucer. The cameo relief bisque portrait depicting Empress Augusta Victoria is centered in a gold cartouche surrounded by a lapis blue ground. Both cup and saucer have a solid blue lapis ground and a parcel gilt anthemia edge. The cup has a serpent handle. This item dates to the late 19th or early 20th century. It is in overall good, as-pictured used estate condition with some very minor rubbing to the gold, a few noticeable scratches to the blue ground on the reverse of the cup, a very few other very fine and light glaze scratches here and there, and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age . The bases of both cup and saucer have a blue underglaze scepter factory mark, a red orb mark, and various numbers and cyphers. DIMENSIONSHeight cup: ca. 4 1/2 in.
