SP-12 Sampling Percussion - $3,000 - (New Boston, MI)

The SP-1200 is a legendary 1980's sampling machine that encapsulates the sound of rap & hip-hop in the 1980's and early 1990s. While it had limited sampling capabilities at on 12-bit resolution at 26.040 kHz, it had a specific sound that lends itself to the music it was commonly used to produce. While similar to the Akai MPC's in functionality and programming, the upgraded 1985 version focussed on sampling capabilities omitting the presets for 32 slots of sampling storage. The SP-1200 is still used today and noteworthy in its contribution to production over the years. Disc shown are included.
