Marantz 6100 Turntable, Pickering XSV3000 Cartridge, Excellent - $345 - (Middle Falls, NY)

Here’s another nice Model 6100...belt drive and semi automatic. On board is the highly acclaimed Pickering XSV3000 cartridge with the genuine stylus. This combination sounds...as expected...excellent. Maintenance: I thoroughly cleaned this machine inside and out...added a new belt...lubricated the motor and center spindles..added fresh dampening oil to the cueing...and sound/functions tested this for at least 30 minutes..in fact I had to listen to both sides of David Sanborn Double Vision. Condition: the base is very clean..some veneer slippage...but overall is nice..all four feet are original and good...the platter is crisp...the mat is soft and pliable-some scratches to the centerpiece..the stylus tip shows life left..the cover is very good...some internal rub marks along with surface swirling and scratches—one tiny crack at the left hinge(I left it alone)..taken altogether this is a very nice 6100...with a KILLER cartridge...functions as designed...and produces excellent quality sound comparable to much higher end machines. I pack with great care and fully insure for shipping. I use double walled heavy duty boxes reinforced with green foam board in the corners.
