Surrounds just replaced (9/13/2018) on the woofers and the midrange drivers, the tweets sound as sweet as everHigh grade Polyether surrounds with a full 1" roll were used on the 15" woofers to keep with the original design.Same grade and materials used for the 5" midrange drivers.All 6 capacitors replaced on both speakers crossovers (9/13/2018) (Audio Grade Nichicon & Panasonic)Pots cleaned and DeoxIt treated for smooth, static free operation.Oiled Walnut Veneer Cabinets are original but have been hand oiled to renew their beauty, a few small edge bumps were there on the back edges but have been colored to blend them from sight, no fillers were used.The back sides of both speakers are just excellent and the terminals are clean tight and function perfectly.Bottoms of speakers were originally just painted black, they were worn so I applied a non-rubberized Black Truck Bed Liner to them for extended durability yet retained the original look.Inside the cabinets, the original fiberglass batting was retained and a textured rubberized undercoating was applied to aid in the control of resonation and for additional sound dampening The grills are original also, very nice but have a couple of small holes, thank goodness at the bottom and are virtually unnoticeable.These are very nice speakers in excellent restored condition, they are well built and sound superb when driven with adequate wattage and a good quality amplifier or receiver. I'm playing them currently with 45 watts each to loosen the surrounds and they just sound better and better as time goes on.These should last another 40 years and maybe more.
