Superb dainty vintage Appenzell hand embroidery handkerchief in ecru... Features refined hand embroidery work showcasing a floral motif with padded satin stitching, fine buratto worked background, and delicate seed stitching, and is finished off with a buttonhole-stitched scalloped edge all around. Very soft and sheer cotton lawn. Measures ~11&3/8"X11&3/8", and is finished all around. Appears hardly used with embroidery pattern markings still present. In overall very good-excellent condition with age yellowing, mild soilage, intermittent light spots which may be appreciated in the photos, stress points along th edge, and occasional scraggly threads. Though none are noted, there may be a rare tiny break.
