MANUSCRIPT MUSICAL SCORE WRITTEN, INSCRIBED and SIGNED by MEL TORMÉ - “YOU SAD, SAD MAN” - Handwritten by Tormé when he was 15 years old (1940) - Signed and inscribed to “Mike” when he was 29 years old (1954). TWO PAGE MANUSCRIPT SCORE - written on two pages of a single-fold sheet of “Lyon & Healy No. 13” sheet music paper, 9.5” x 12.5”, 4 pages. The music is written in black ink (over light pencil), the lyrics in red pencil. The original circa 1940 manuscript has “WORDS - MUSIC by MEL TORME (no accent over the “E”) at the top right corner of the first page. The circa 1954 inscription is written in the blank top margin of the first page. The inscription reads: “Dear Mike: I wrote this little gem when I was fifteen years old. (That’s 14 years ago!) Thought you might get a laugh out of it! All the best - Mel Tormé (signed)”. VERY GOOD condition, just light signs of handling, still bright, clean and clear. LOVELY.
