The "Langenschwalbacher" were developed and built out of an order from the Royal Prussian Railroad Administration (KPEV) to provide resort guests with a pleasant ride between Wiesbaden and the Taunus resort of Langenschwalbach. Since the route had numerous curves, the cars had to be short in design. For this reason and for a comfortable ride they were equipped with lightweight trucks. The T 18 tank locomotives were given the difficult assignment of pulling these cars. The Prussian Railroad cars differed from later German Federal Railroad versions chiefly in their striking color schemes. These cars proved to be successful and were later used on other routes. They are still run today in museum trains. Train length: 306 mm (12-1/16") Locomotive and cars are in a special edition.
