Extremely low mintage Carson City specimen. Certified by NGC as AU details, harshly cleaned. The coin is glossy on the obverse, but to describe this coin as 'harshly' cleaned is frankly just silly. This coin went through one of the major reputable auction houses in the mid 1970's (last time this coin surfaced) and was offered as an XF with NO MENTION OF ANY SORT OF CLEANING. This coin has moderately deep brownish-gray toning, totally original looking, so any cleaning that was done may have been a hundred years ago.
