The seats fold up and the writing surface has a groove to hold a pencil. Underneath is a storage space for paper or books This desk is very solid and sturdy All the wood has its original finish with interesting initials scratched in the top writing surface such as the letter A as in apple? The metal base has some trace of the original black paint that started life on it along with some minor surface rust. It is signed: A S Co 6 prominently embossed on both sides of the base A great item to add to your Décor / Doll Collection - or a gift as a Valentine Day Present ( See pictures with 2 litter soda bottle & 3 U.S. Currency bills, each which are approx. 6" long ) Approx.
