LATE GEORGIAN OR EARLY VICTORIAN ROSEWOOD TEA CADDY - $475 - (Santa Fe, NM)
This late Georgian/early Victorian tea caddy has a gorgeous rosewood grain from every angle (that is not really shown very well in the photos) and an attractive canted design. The color and grain are best represented by the fourth, ninth and last photos. However, in the last photo it looks like a major change in color from top to bottom of the caddy while it is actually a very subtle and beautifully grained transition. Hardware appears to be original. Key turns in lock but doesn’t lock the box. Small separations in the veneer, one about 2” long and the other 1” on one top end facet is shown in the next to last photo. Dimensions: 11” long at bottom, 12” long at top. 6 1/2” wide, 5 3/4” tall to top of box section about 7” all overall. Please enjoy the photos and ask for more if you are interested.
