A true rarity in the form of a superb octagonal inkwell of heavy black crystal or Hyalite Ware. Beautifully beveled, the well supports a pointed octagonal glass lid which is secured by two (2) hinged brass colors. The whole further enhanced by hand painted polychrome enabled chinoiserie scenes including figures in various activities or Oriental daily life.
