This is a beautifully restored first version type Hubley 495 Navy Fighter Bomber in Aluminum and Red, manufactured in 1956 by Hubley, Lancaster, Pa. It has been beautifully restored. Using N.O.S. parts, period correct paint and hand-crafted restorative work, the plane has come back to life in all its glory. This is the debut edition of the 495, hitting the shelves in 1956 for a very short period of time before being revised, then revised again. It is the first of 10 variants of the 495. The cockpit canopy slides to the open position without scratching fuselage spine. Wings fold up and down without impingement. Responsive landing gear fully extends and retracts. Note: Some blemishes in the body are factory made during the white metal casting process back in 1956. Carefully look at the photographs and see if this is satisfactory for you.
