If you have film or images you would like to digitize and get on your computer or CDd this is for you. It was PC Mags editors choice. Below is a little information from a review. The 3170 comes complete with the film adapter built into the removable lid. This film adapter basically consists of a light diffusing strip that runs along the lids length. Behind this is a secondary light that shines through the film ready for when the six-line CCD sensor travels underneath the glass document table in a single pass. In order for the film to be positioned correctly, Epson has included 3 film holders. 1 for scanning up to 12 35mm negatives, another for 4 slides/transparencies, and a final 1 for a single medium format (120/220 or six x 9cm) frame.
