The tree you receive has been grown outside, not in a greenhouse, so it may have bug damage, yellow/orange/brown leaves, brown spots on leaves, missing leaves, or other signs of fall. White Pines are large evergreen trees that are planted for wildlife habitat, wood production, windbreaks, and as ornamentals or Christmas trees. Squirrels, rabbits, birds, and other animals eat the seeds, and many species of birds also use the trees as nesting sites. It is also an attractive ornamental, with long needles and a pyramid shape. It grows in full sun or partial shade, and does well in moist or dry soils.
