I had a refret done in 2005—other than that, it’s all original. It’s in great shape, and the tone is monster—from deep warm thump to aggressive edge, it’s got it. It records very well directly, too. It appears that 2 extra bolts were added to the 3-bolt neck mounting—that was before my time. The neck and action are in great shape. This is a great opportunity to own one of these coveted “BOO”-era basses. I played a bunch of vintage StingRays before buying this one, but this one dominated the others I played. The tone is there.
