Center Pivot for Wheel & Pedal ~ Antique Singer Treadle Sewing Machine Frame - $10 - (Bradenton, FL)
My husband and I have owned and restored over 1000 antique and vintage sewing machines, and both of us have a special interest in treadle (foot-powered) models. There’s just something fascinating about providing your own power to make something with your machine. We have accumulated a small stock of old parts for these things and the parts aren’t doing anyone any good sitting in our workshop, so we have decided to send them on to where they’re needed. Many treadle frames have come to us over the years with worn, missing or badly rusted “centers,” the internal pivots that both the drive wheel and the foot pedal ride on. Some hardware on a treadle frame can be improvised but these things have to be original or your treadle will not work properly. This center measures about one-and-one-half inches in length and is 27/64th inches in diameter. We believe it will fit every treadle frame Singer manufactured from roughly 1880 until the 1940s, but please measure your frame to be sure.It is in solid, original condition and has been brushed off but not thoroughly cleaned. We have three available as this is written. They came from a Singer treadle frame with an 1887 patent date so they are approximately 130 years old. Each has worn and aged differently from the others, so the center and nut you receive may be slightly different in appearance from the one pictured. Please ask if you have questions! We are happy to help you.You are invited to take a look at our other eBay listings. We are selling many interesting and useful sewing things. All of our goods are unconditionally guaranteed.
