Original production Cel of Mickey Mouse in the 1940 film the "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" by Walt Disney. One (1) hand inked production cel, gouache on nitrocellulose, trimmed to the ink line, depicting a full figure Mickey Mouse as the Sorcerers Apprentice, seated with his arms raised above head, index fingers held together forming a point. Head turned to the left, eyes open. (THERE IS NO PAINT MISSING FROM MICKEY'S EARS, IT JUST DUST ON THE PLEXIGLASS) The cel exhibits some loss of paint in the second finger of the right hand near the ink line and at the bridge of Mickey's nose. The cel is placed in register to a hand-prepared watercolor background measuring 5 3/4" H x 5 3/4" W. Created by Kirk Ludwig, the background depicts a chair at which Mickey is seated and a table on which he rests his feet. Mr. Ludwig has signed the hand-prepared background on the verso and attached his business card. A gold colored plate is engraved with "Fantasia 1940" and is located on the matte, directly under the cel of Mickey.
