This is a very fine example of a rare spiny trilobite. It is a distinct Ceratonurus sp. from the Haragan Formation of Oklahoma. This beautiful specimen was found and prepared years ago by trilobite savant, the late, great Eugene Thomas. This trilobite exhibits very fine detail - the long pleural and genal spines are beautifully displayed. The large, protruding eyes are easily seen, and the dual occipital "horns" are present and have been prepared in a free-standing manner. This impressive bug has great natural color and very nice contrast and is well showcased on the plate of sculpted limestone. This is a very cool example of this classic spiny trilobite, one of the most recognizable and collectible trilobites from Oklahoma.
