1907 $5 Woodchopper INCREDIBLE 2 DIGIT LOW SERIAL Fr 88 PCGS 64PPQ - $2,299 - (Minneapolis, MN)

Here is an absolutely gorgeous trophy note for the low serial number collector. You just don't see 2 digit serials in this series, or pretty much anything above $1 notes. This is only the second 2 digit Woodchopper I have seen in my years of collecting large size notes. It is certified Very Choice Unc 64 PPQ by PCGS, and I think it is even undergraded. The front has flawless centering and incredible color more of a 66-67 grade. I think PCGS knocked it for the reverse being slightly right of center, but it is again Gem centering on the vertical. I still would have given it full Gem 65. The only other 2 digit Woodchopper I have seen was printed at the same time and was in the same pack with close serial numbers, and that is certified 66. But in the end, the appeal of this rarity is the serial number, not the grade, and the front has the flawless centering.
