Antique 1890s Cast Iron & Oak Wood Ornate Adjustable Book StandThe New Harvard Dictionary Holders -still has two original paper labels on the shelf part. Victorian era 1880s 1890s, has patent number on it--looks like May 1880, but hard to see. Long, curvy legs are pressed steel with cast iron tips on the bottom (the tip only on one of the legs has been replaced long ago, but functions well)In very good antique vintage condition, complete, not cracked or broken, wood has original finish, looks like the metal has been repainted gold a long time ago (probably was all black originally) Also has an industrial, steampunk lookCould be used for a dictionary or other large book, in a library, or to hold music, etc. Measures 39" tall raised to the highest point, wooden shelves are 23" wide when opened and just over 12" long or deep, the lower ornate cast iron shelf is 17" from the floor, the footprint of the 4 curvy legs is 18" x 18" Wooden shelves open/close, rotate,and also can be raised/loweredOrnate metal shelf rests firm in one place on the top of the legs.Relatively easy to take apart and put together, only need a flat head screwdriver. Will be separated / dismantled for shipping (as in photo #10 & 11) (The 4 legs actually separate and flatten too, but I will leave them set up as seen.)
