Authentic Shingle and Shake Circular Sawmill 38 7/8" Blade - $500 - (Coos Bay, OR)
Here we have a genuine shake and shingle machine blade from an actual working mill back in the day. This blade will fit Sumner High Standard, Sumner Standard, Gold Medal, and Baby Gold Medal machines. They're also great for any flat shingle and shake machines of antique or new manufacture. It should be sharpened before use and can also be carbide tipped. This particular blade is 38 7/8 inches in diameter and has a slight dish to its overall shape. Similar blades today new are estimated at around $5000 each. It's intentionally painted white and was previously used at the John Rinkes Mill in Jewell, Oregon, to make shingles and shakes for a number of clients. Some of these include the Timberline Lodge by Mt Hood, where the Stephen King movie “The Shining” was filmed. The Warm Springs Reservation was also another high profile client.While the blade is real and can be used in an appropriate machine, you can also use it for decorative purposes or anything else creative.
