Antique Sterling Silver Repousse Match Box Cover by William Comyns decorated relief face & birds repousse decorations. Sterling Hallmarks on the back with W.C Circa 1885. William Comyns were the best silversmith firm in London at that time. Beautifully handmade. Solid Sterling Silver encasing a cardboard matchbox inside that pushes out. Has matches also. One side of the matchbox is worn but the other side is in good shape. The back of the silver box has 1 very small dent.There are  minor scratches on the back & various wear to the sides of the inner cardboard matchbox commensurate with usage & age. The front is in fine overall condition with no scratches or dents. It is very beautiful estate sale find. The measurements are.. 3in long..2 in wide.. 1in tall.
