Antique Victorian Double Stranded Rattan Rug Beater. Beautiful, Ornate design. Quite the luxury item back in the day when exotic imports were still very expensive. In America Rattan became fashionable in the 1850's on as furniture, etc. due to the designs of Cyrus Wakefield. Excellent Antique Condition, no breaks or loose ends. Beautiful, strong and still quite usable. Lovely tin tip end.Measures: 28" x 8 1/2" My family has owned this still working farm in central Virginia for over 240 years. We're selling some of our antiques, primitives, collectibles, etc. to help pay for long overdue repairs and renovation done to the old main house last year.
