Vintage Eico Tube Tester Very Rare Model 666 Excellent Condition 1956 - $260 - (Mcgregor, MN)
This Eico (Electronic Instruments Co., Long Island City 1, N.Y.) is in great shape. It’s not “like New.” As you can see from the photos there is some rust on the hinges and the handle is worn. Better condition than most Eico Tube Testers I have seen in the past several years. The owner at the estate sale where I purchased it said that it was used sparingly. It was a hobby of his. He was a HAM Radio enthusiast. When it wasn’t in use it was stored away in his closet. Because this unit is very heavy and will require a substantial take from the shipping and the fact that I am not able to verify the workings of the unit personally, I am not allowing for any returns and hereby stating that it may not work to the buyer’s satisfaction. With my very limited abilities I turned it on and it did power up. I have noticed that the model #667 ones up for sale at about 25 to 1 to this model that’s up for sale. Actually the 666 was rated better than its successor. It also has more of a variety of tubes that can be tested. I can only surmise that the negative implication of the “666” limited their production. The serial number is: 23810. The case measures 15” in length, 12” wide and is 6” in height. It weighs 16.5 lbs. This does come with the original roll chart. It also comes with the instruction manual and a updated roll chart from 1977. The manual is an exact copy version of the original. You can refer to tone-lizard.com and receive (free of charge) newer calibrations. You can also find much more valuable information from this site. Thanks for looking. Any questions will be welcomed and I will answer them to the best of my knowledge. UPDATE: With the high amount of watchers in such a short period of time, I wanted to inform every one that I replaced all the mounting screws for the test board which is not shown in photos. Thanks for looking.
