RARE! VINTAGE ANRI BERNARDI 8" NATIVITY "DROMEDARY" (ONE HUMP CAMEL) with rope attached in very excellent vintage condition. 1980s beautifully cared for and displayed over 30+years. Purchased at auction. The Dromedary is elegant and has a sweet face. There is a bit of paint wear on the lips and the tiniest on the left ear. Vintage condition means the figure has a patina from handling and gentle softening of the colors and enhanced highlighting. Some tiny areas of paint loss may be present but do not detract from the look of the figurine in display. No two ANRI Bernardi facial expressions are alike. The ANRI attention to detail both in master carving and painting is legendary. It takes 90 days for a figurine to be completed from wood choice to finish. Maple, alpine, lime tree, ash and pear tree are some of the woods used. The transparent oil paint is used is to allow the natural wood grain show through. The Dromedary is one of the extra shepherds, sheep, other characters and animals for the ANRI Bernardi 8" Nativity to enhance and expand a Nativity collection. The "Camel Guide" and the Dromedary are sold separately and are only pictured to show they would look when paired together. The Dromedary measures 10 1/2" L x 3" W x 9" T. The Dromedary and the Camel Guide would be a wonderful addition to the 3 kings in their real gold and silver leaf finery. The ANRI Bernardi 8" Nativity scale is based on the 8" tall Joseph.
