NOS Original SINGER SEWING MACHINE decal sheet, originally printed for use on Singer Model 15 machines made in China and Taiwan from the 1970s-2000s. These were designed to be used on the Singer 15, but can be adapted for use on many other Singer models of equivalent size. The decals are similar to the SPHINX style that were used by Singer from the 1890s-1940s, but they are not exactly the same. The decals are NOT waterslide decals, but are metal leaf printed on a thin tissue paper. To apply, you peel the entire sheet of decals from the thick backing sheet, then you cut the particular decal you want to apply. After placing the decal exactly where you want it, you wet the tissue paper just enough (using a q-tip or barely moist cotton ball) to get it to separate from the decal. Too much water will result in water bubbles between the decal and the sewing machine surface. After the metal leaf separates from the tissue paper, you carefully peel away the paper and gently sop up any excess water and allow the decal to dry on the machine. Trying to move or rub the decal after it has separated from the tissue paper will likely cause it to TEAR or DISINTEGRATE. After it is dry, spray the machine with a clear coat to protect the decals. A clear coat is mandatory, as there is no 'glue' layer on the metal leaf decals to keep it attached to the machine. These decals are definitely not easy to use (like the aftermarket model-airplane style decals that others sell). However, they are the 'authentic' kind of real metal decals that were used in a sewing machine factory. There are no returns or refunds for used or cut-up decal sheets. Additional Application Notes: FOR BEST RESULTS: SPRAY PAINT THE BACK SIDE OF THE DECAL SHEET (THE SILVER FOIL SIDE) WITH CLEAR COAT AND LET DRY BEFORE CUTTING DECALS OUT AND APPLYING TO THE MACHINE.
