Designed in 1938 by Trude Petri and Siegmund Schultz (who designed the medallions) to commemorate the 175th anniversary of KPM. The individual dinner sets have unglazed bisque medallions of various designs portraying the utopian vision of Arcadia, from the Greek and Roman myths. Characters such as Demeter, Cupid and Pan appear on some sets as well as shells, horses, Pegasus and other designs. This sugar bowl has the “Amor with Bow” (Cupid) design. KPM is known for their very high quality porcelain and was founded by Frederick the Great in 1763. You can see the blue scepter mark on the bottom of the sugar bowl. A rare find to add to your collection!
