KPM Berlin KURLAND White Vegetable Serving Bowl with Handles - $225 - (Farmingdale, NY)

This listing is for a fine quality KPM German porcelain 'Kurland' pattern white large serving bowl with handles. This could be from a lidded or covered serving bowl, but as the rim shows no signs of contact with any lid, possibly it was also sold as an open serving bowl? This is pre-owned in excellent condition without any chips, cracks, crazing, utensil marks, stains, or other noticeable wear from use. Marked on bottom underglaze with blue scepter and impressed marks. Measures approximately 10" from handle to handle x 8" diameter on top rim x 3 1/4" height. A perfect size for serving vegetables or other side dishes. KPM's Kurland pattern, embossed with classical design elements of beads, swags and tassels was inspired by relief designs on English silver flatware sometime around 1790. Originally produced for Peter von Biron, The Duke of Kurland, production has been continued ever since with variations of the pattern being issued from time to time.
