Ketcham McDougall Sterling Silver Louis XV Repousse Embroidery Thimble Size 8 - $130 - (Granada Hills, CA)
This auction is for a beautiful old sterling silver embroidery thimble made by Ketcham & McDougall extra heavy with Louis XV raised scroll pattern on top and lower scalloped rim. This thimble from the 1890's stamped inside the apex with the script style letter "K & MD Sterling" and stamped outside 8(size) on the band. Thimble measures 5/8"(1.6cm) by 13/16" (2cm).Thimble is in good condition with some age and use wear, with no holes. One like this is shown on p. 75 (plate 52) of Gay Ann Rogers' book "American Silver Thimbles".
