Magnificent antique 19th century Meissen Germany hand painted porcelain figurine A 64 from the Seasons series representing Spring. Modeled ca. 1764 by Johann Joachim Kaendler (1706-1775). Depicts a Cherub holding a basket of flowers under one arm and one single flower on the other. Measures approx. 5 1/4 in (13.5 cm) Height x 3 in (7.25 cm) across at widest point x 2 in (5 cm) depth. Marked on the bottom with the underglaze Meissen blue crossed swords seal, the model number A 64 incised, also the number 13 which is the number of the factory employee working with the mold and the painter’s number 22 in red. According to the seal it was manufactured in 1815-1924. Mint condition. Please see the pictures as they are the best description. A great addition to your porcelain collection.
