We will also feature a guest biotech startup in a quick pitch. This month we are featuring Margarita Chavez – Managing Director, AbbVie Ventures. Our moderator will be Nancy Tyrrell - President, Women in Bio, Chicago Chapter. Margarita is Managing Director at Abbvie Ventures. She brings twenty years of dealmaking experience, with over ten years in biotech and pharma M&A, licensing, and public and private financings. Margarita has lead and managed investments in over 2 dozen biotech companies in the US and Europe. She is currently responsible for AbbVie’s investments in Morphic Therapeutics, Palleon Pharmaceuticals, eFFECTOR Therapeutics, CARMA Therapeutics, and Jnana Therapeutics. Most recently, Margarita was a Director of Abbott’s Global Pharmaceutical Licensing & Acquisitions group.
