Superb 14k Elgin Pocket Watch Size 6 - $775 - (Shingle Springs, CA)
Here is a fantastic Elgin pocket watch in solid 14k gold with the following attributes: - Model 1, size 6, 15 jewels, 3/4 plate hunting model with nickel damaskeening- Year of production: 1892- Pendant wind & lever set mechanical operations- Gorgeous, full hunter case in solid 14k gold measuring approx 40x52mm- Total weight is approx 56 grams This is the most amazing pocket watch I've ever seen or possessed. The production date was 1892, but the watch looks like it was made yesterday! It's obvious that this item was seldom, if ever, used. I recently had this watch professionally serviced and it may be the first time since it was new. There are no previous service scratches anywhere. The fabulous, ornate full hunter case was custom crafted for this watch and appears as new. All hinges open to 90 degrees and the case covers snap shut firmly. There are no personal engravings. The pendant wind and lever set mechanisms work as expected. The dial appears under normal viewing to be flawless, but there is a very minor hair crack between the seconds sub-dial and 7 o'clock that can be seen with a 10x loupe. This is a normal occurrence with this style dial and the only blemish that I've detected. This Elgin is more beautiful than the pictures can show. I can talk forever about it's quality and appearance, but the true testament is to hold this watch in your hand. Any new owner will be extremely pleased.
