23” Pierrot Boudoir Doll~Original~Circa 1920s~Beautiful~Lenci or Similar Maker - $350 - (Manhattan, KS)

This doll was purchased about 10 years ago from the sale of THE ENCHANTED DOLL MUSEUM, and it was identified in the museum as a Lenci Pierrot. The auction house also attributed it to Lenci. The Pierrot is not marked. You can be the judge. It is a beautiful Pierrot Boudoir Doll of the 1920’s period. HE WOULD MAKE A WONDERFUL SUITOR TO YOUR LADY BOUDOIR DOLLS! Description: The doll features a lovely pressed felt head with fine decoration of the facial features. The torso is a hard stuffed muslin torso (this is identical to the materials used on the Lenci lady torsos). The arms/hands are made from felt. The legs are made from a muslin stockinette material. He wears a beautiful wool felt outfit, in overall excellent condition. The outfit is original. The outfit is mostly sewn on. We have included a photo of an exposed area on the back of the neck which shows the seam. Condition: The Pierrot is in overall excellent condition, with a slight rub on nose, and paint missing on the right eyebrow (see photographs). There is a slight widening of the seam (which could easily be closed) at the doll’s left ankle area which can be seen in the photos. I do not see any moth holes in the doll or the fabric of the costume. Circa: 1920’s. Marks: None.
