Vintage Reproduction Antique French Doll by Connie Walshir Derek - $295 - (Shady Cove, OR)
The face on this doll is just mesmerizing! What a gorgeous artist doll this one is! She is a beautiful soft white bisque head that was expertly painted by the artist. Her bisque is creamy with lovely rendered features, nicely feathered brows, expertly painted lashes and outlined eyes with set glass crystal blue eyes and pinkish open/close mouth. I think she is a one of a kind artist doll as there is no mold number on the doll. As she is not numbered, I do not think you will find another one like her. This doll is gorgeous and displays just as well with antique dolls of her caliber.She measures about 20 1/2" high and is on a very nice handmade composition jointed body; her stringing is still very good. She has a pretty vintage loose ringlet wig and there is some age to it but it's not noticeable when she is wearing the bonnet. She is wearing a vintage blue silk and lace couture hand made dress signed by the seamstress with a velvet doll jacket and matching bonnet with white silk rose flowers to the side, the same blue lace gathered inside and a big blue feature on top! There is some age to the velvet on the jacket and one small repair on the sleeve. She has off white pantaloons with rows of lace on the bottom, white socks and shoes.
